Last evening, White Rock Medical Center (WRMC) hosted a vibrant Physicians Open House, extending a warm welcome to a diverse blend of our existing medical team and healthcare providers from the White Rock community. It was an exciting opportunity for attendees to explore the exciting developments and innovations on the horizon at WRMC.At the heart of our gathering was the unveiling of our recently opened multi-specialty clinic, representing a significant milestone in our commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services. The clinic boasts expanded service lines, including gastroenterology, neurosurgery, orthopedic spine, pain management, and more. These additions reflect our unwavering dedication to meeting the evolving healthcare needs of the White Rock community.The event buzzed with anticipation as attendees toured the state-of-the-art facilities and learned about the cutting-edge technologies and resources available at WRMC. From innovative treatment options to personalized care approaches, guests were treated to a glimpse of the future of healthcare delivery in our community.As we reflect on the success of the Physicians Open House, we are filled with gratitude for the ongoing support and collaboration of our medical staff, community partners, and patients. <figure id="figure-e3f76svgvuluc8kfd1" class=""><img id="e3f76svgvuluc8kfd1" src="https://cdn.durable.co/blocks/4RAW2FBfB6rEXQ0YfDPn9YtMF0BQVMCSRDN6HVcnzPvEymBH17lhHQqFAZKdlQ2x.jpg" alt="" title="" class="object-cover bg-gray-100 rounded-2xl md:rounded-3xl lg:rounded-4xl" style="aspect-ratio: 16/9; object-position: center center;" data-corners="default" data-aspect="16:9" data-caption="" data-positionx="undefined" data-positiony="undefined" data-fullwidth="false" data-mce-src="https://cdn.durable.co/blocks/4RAW2FBfB6rEXQ0YfDPn9YtMF0BQVMCSRDN6HVcnzPvEymBH17lhHQqFAZKdlQ2x.jpg" data-mce-style="aspect-ratio: 16/9; object-position: center center;"></figure>White Rock Medical Center has been recognized with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Silver Plus Achievement Award with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.This is the first time the hospital has been honored with this recognition.The award signifies that White Rock Medical Center’s stroke care and treatments are consistent with the latest scientific treatment guidelines.“The Silver Plus Award recognizes that our patient outcomes data shows adherence to these guidelines for care standards for at least 12 months consecutively,” explained Cynthia Dick, RN, stroke coordinator at White Rock Medical Center.Hospitals receiving the Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Silver Plus award have reached an aggressive goal of treating patients with a core standard of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American Stroke, according to the association.As part of the program, hospitals participate in a registry for which they submit quality data regarding care for patients with strokes. During the last year, the staff tracked specific measures related to strokes, such as venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis, antithrombotic therapy at discharge, smoking cessation support, and other measures.What’s more, White Rock Medical Center was honored with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll recognizing care for stroke patients who also have type 2 diabetes. This additional set of guidelines includes measures of care such as diabetes treatment and lifestyle change education.“This special honor roll recognizes our focus on providing proper care for patients who suffer stroke and diabetes with treatments rooted in evidence-based standards,” explained Dick. “Diabetes is a major risk factor for stroke. Focusing on these special set of patients can help reduce their risk of stroke.”
